Dimitrios Vassiliadis
Dimitrios Vassiliadis was a three year varsity starter for St. Joseph’s in Metuchen, NJ. His junior year, he led the entire state in assists; 19 assists in 18 games. He was voted All-State and All-County all three years, along with winning a county title and an appearance in the State Sectional Finals.
Dimitrios played club soccer for the Ironbound Predators out of Newark, New Jersey. There, he helped the Predators win multiple awards, including 3 National Championships, a U-16 Regional Championship, and a U-20 State Cup Championship. Dimitrios has also had the opportunity to go on trial at a few big clubs, including Fulham FC and Swansea City. As a junior, Dimitrios committed to Rutgers University with an athletic scholarship. After two successful years at
Rutgers, he had an opportunity to play professionally in Europe. He went to Cyprus and signed a professional contract with second division team Olympiakos Lefkosias, where he played for 2 seasons. His first season, he was featured in every single game. He then signed for THOI Lakatamias, also in the second division in Cyprus.Unfortunately, the need for surgery led him to move back home to New Jersey, where he immediately started coaching youth soccer. He currently is a coach at St. Joseph’s High School in Metuchen, NJ and for Valencia Soccer Academy. At VSA, he coaches boys and girls from ages 8 to 17. Dimitrios has moved to the other side of the sideline and has enjoyed that transition more and more each day.
