Acie Earl is a veteran NBA center and former Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He played four seasons in the National Basketball Association with the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks. He was selected nineteenth overall in the NBA Draft.
Acie played collegiately at the University of Iowa where he earned the Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year award. He was selected to two All-Big Ten teams and won All-American honorable mention honors. He set the Iowa record for blocked shots and finished his career as the second leading scorer in school history. Acie currently works in real estate in the Iowa City area and is the author of Basketball’s Main Ingredients. He also works as a coach and instructor for Venom Sports. He has previously coached in the American Basketball Association and the Continental Basketball Association. Acie also works at the University of Iowa as a tutor/mentor for athletic student services and he teaches coaching classes for both undergrad and the senior college. Acie holds a masters degree in sports business for Iowa which he earned in 2012.
